Planning Breaks Effectively | Timing Strategy for Master’s Dissertations

About this video

In this video I discuss how to effectively plan holidays & breaks during your dissertation period to help you produce academic work of the highest level. As a law professor and the Master’s Degree Expert, who’s supervised hundreds of Master’s students, I know that well-structured breaks are essential for both productivity and wellbeing.

Factor #2 in my countdown addresses the difference between healthy, planned breaks and unstructured, extended absences that can inadvertently extend indefinitely. I emphasise that everyone deserves holiday time free from academic work, but the key is proper break planning: clearly defining when breaks start and end.

This countdown series provides you with my expert tips based on my experience of helping  many hundreds of Master’s students succeed at top UK universities. Please make sure that you check the guidance and guidelines within your own university as they apply to your Master’s degree programme. Whether you’re just starting your dissertation or feeling overwhelmed partway through, these practical insights will help you stay on track.
